San Fu Patch Therapy
I’m excited to share one of my favorite seasonal therapies: San Fu Patch Therapy, also known as San Fu Moxibustion. This unique Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment is only offered during the hottest days of the year — known as the San Fu Days, when the body’s yang energy is at its peak.
This is the perfect time to open up the skin’s pores, support Qi and blood flow to the surface, and use that warmth to treat cold and deficiency patterns stored deep within the body. We often say in TCM: “treat winter diseases in the summer” — and this is exactly what San Fu Therapy is designed to do.
How This Program Works
During your appointment, I apply specially prepared warming herbal patches to specific acupuncture points on your back and upper chest. These herbs gently stimulate the meridians, improve circulation, and warm your body from within — all without needles or heat lamps.
This therapy doesn’t burn the herbs like traditional moxibustion. Instead, we use a herbal paste containing mugwort and other warming ingredients. These patches sit on the skin for 20–40 minutes and work gradually to boost your body’s yang energy, helping to push out cold and damp that have built up over time.
Why Summer? Why Now?
Summer is nature’s most yang season. The heat from the environment works with the warming herbs to open up your body’s energetic channels more deeply. In this way, we can clear out cold, dampness, and deficiency before the winter returns.
If you often feel cold hands and feet, get sick easily, or struggle with chronic respiratory or menstrual issues, this therapy may help you get ahead of those symptoms before they worsen in colder seasons.
What Can San Fu Patch Therapy Help With?
Over the years, I’ve seen great results for people with:
✅ Asthma, chronic cough, and bronchitis
✅ Allergies and sinus issues
✅ Low immunity or frequent colds
✅ Menstrual cramps or cold womb
✅ Fatigue, poor digestion, cold hands and feet
✅ Joint pain or stiffness made worse by cold weather
If you feel like your body struggles to warm up, if you’re always catching colds, or if you deal with lingering symptoms that worsen in winter — this is the perfect seasonal opportunity to try something preventative.
Who This Is For
San Fu Patch Therapy is best for people with cold, damp, or deficiency patterns — especially those recovering from long-term illness, dealing with low energy, or trying to improve their immune system naturally.
It’s also a great option for people who:
Stay up late or work long hours
Sit in air-conditioned spaces all day
Experience high stress or burnout
Are prone to cold limbs or sensitivity to wind
Who Should Avoid It?
This therapy isn’t suitable for everyone. I don’t recommend it for people who are:
Pregnant
Experiencing acute infections or high fevers
Struggling with open wounds or serious skin conditions
If you’re unsure whether this therapy is right for you, please feel free to message me or book a short consultation. I’ll be happy to assess your condition and provide tailored recommendations.
